Her eyes opened slowly, revealing a bright sky above her and making her wince. Though she was used to a much brighter light, the body she was currently in wouldn't allow her much comfortability in her surroundings at all. Her back ached, her eyes had trouble adjusting, and the grass beneath her felt prickly and alien against the skin of her back. She groaned, closing her eye lids and pushing herself to lay on her side, breathing out softly and moving her fingers against the green blades in front of her.

"S-seriously...?" She frowned, feeling her vocal cords vibrate with her words and her heart pound against her chest. She pulled herself up shakily and looked around her. She wasn't even sure where this was. Ahead of her she could only see vast meadows of green and to the sides of her were dense trees and a thick windy trail leading deeper into them.

Stretching upwards, Krystal's cheeks turned red. She felt an unnatural breeze against her body and looked down. Sure, in heaven it wasn't abnormal to be undressed but for some reason here it just felt wrong. She felt exposed. She looked around, muttering to herself and trying to find something to cover herself with.

"Come on, have some decency..." She hissed, tilting her chin to the azure sky above her. She thought that maybe if she continued walking she would find someone kind enough to lend her some clothing. All of this for an angel I hardly knew... I bet he ended up somewhere in some Hollywood suite...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Startled by the voice she was hearing, Krystal stiffened considerably. She turned around after a moment, facing someone and furrowing her eyebrows. Her cheeks burned and she felt her heart increase in speed. It felt odd. He was looking at her, obviously rather uncomfortable while she stares up at him shyly. Shifting, Krystal couldn't stand his gaze any long and she suddenly darted to her left, retreating into the dense woods she had observed earlier and pressing herself against the bark of a tree. She squealed, feeling it prick at her skin and pushed off from it, crouching instead underneath some bushes, her head only visible to him.

"W-who are you?" She stuttered, still not used to her voice. She felt so awkward and so uncomfortable that she felt she might just drop dead from embarrassment any second. She observed him, his presence thick with familiarity yet foreign to her all at once. She felt she had seen him before, and he looked just as uncomfortable as she had. For a quick second, it occurred to her that maybe he was the angel whom had gotten banished from Heaven, but she quickly rejected the thought. The brave, fearless, righteous angel whom had defended the entire human race couldn't possibly be so...normal looking. She imagined his human forum would at least be eight feet, with broad shoulders, buff. No, this couldn't be that angel.

A smile formed on her face and she crouched a bit lower to conceal it. What a silly thought. If it was just a human, she could easily take care of him. He had gotten a good look at her naked form, the least he could do was fork over the clothing. Krystal grinned, overcome with a new sense of power. She might be human, but she could still feel the powers of her angel form deep within her.

Standing up again straight, not even giving him enough time to answer her previous question, Krystal outstretched a slender finger, her other hand rested firmly against her hip. She closed her eyes. There's no way a human could withstand this... She thought. In just moments, the clothes he was wearing would be placed on her back instead, leaving him naked and embarrassed while she scampered off into the woods happy as can be. For a moment, she thought of how God might punish her for "stealing", but scoffed at the thought. She was banished anyways. Besides, the human had a family, somewhere to return to. She needed clothing.

Opening her eyes with a smirk, Krystal lowered her finger, turning quickly to make a run for it before blinking. He was still standing there, clothed, staring at her naked figure blankly. With a frustrated cry, Krystal crouched back down quickly.

"What the..." She frowned, in thought. She knew there was power there, but maybe it was limited. With a whimper, Krystal looked back up, clearing her throat and speaking in a modest, polite tone this time so he wouldn't suspect she had ever had devious intentions. "...Yes please."

Krystal felt her cheeks burn again. She shyly diverted her gaze from his, pretending to be interested in a plant as she reached out and hastily grabbed his jacket from him, starting to pull it over her body.

"Thank you," She spat back at him softly, irritated by her lack of power and her submission. She couldn't help that she had an overwhelming sense of dignity and pride about her. And that's what got me into this mess... She stood up, pulling the jacket closed and zipping it up around her body. It was a little big for her, but it would do. She breathed out, feeling relieved to have some kind of protection. Gazing up into the sky, she spotted the clouds and tilted her head to the side. She looked down again, biting down on her bottom lip, knowing that she once had the power to prevent things like the rain from getting to her, but not wanting to make a fool out of herself again.

"My name is..." She thought for a moment, crossing her arms and walking after him quietly. "U-um. Krystal." She murmured, wondering where he was taking her, or if she should try to get away. She knew that humans weren't necessarily always to be trusted, and most of the men in the world would kill for a naked woman to appear to them, helpless, confused, lost. She was too absorbed in her self-pitying thoughts to register that she had heard his name somewhere before.

"Where are you taking me?" She wondered, returning her gaze to his figure and narrowing her eyes skeptically, holding the jacket closed tighter as a drop of rain hit the tip of her nose.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Krystal shivered, narrowing her eyes further at the suggestion. She looked again and stared out in front of her, noticing a shabby gray building ahead of her and holding the jacket even tighter around her, taking careful steps with bare feet and following close behind him. She felt cold, and nervous, feelings she wasn't used to at all resulting in nausea. With a deep breath, she steadied herself again and continued walking after him with a soft nod. She really had no other choice, and if he tried something, she convinced herself she could take him. She looked him up and down, pouting slightly as she thought about it. Well, size doesn't always matter...It's all about skill. And she had more skill than a human could even possibly understand.

"I was..." She tried to make up an excuse quickly. "I was looking for exotic plants....er...And I've been camping out here for a while so...I...Uh...decided to shower! Yea-yeah...in the...rain yesterday. And when I went to go put my clothes on they were...erm...stolen." Lying being one of her extreme weak points, Krystal felt quite proud of herself for coming up with something she felt was reasonable. She smiled smugly.

"You didn't take them, did you?" She asked, suddenly moving ahead to stand in front of him, her hands on her hips. "I could have you banis--er...What is it...Um...Arrested! Yes, I could have you arrested for that!" She accused, feeling as though she had gained some kind of upper hand, even though she knew he couldn't have possibly stolen the clothes that never existed.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

"I'm going..." Krystal murmured, walking into the shed and feeling quite down after her lie was shot down so effortlessly. She lifted her eyes to his quietly, wondering why he suddenly seemed colder to her, her stubborn aura toning down with concern. For a moment, Krystal felt herself actually hoping she hadn't offended him too badly. After the thought, however, her cheeks flushed red and she lowers her gaze, frowning and folding her arms over her chest quietly and scoffing to herself. "How am I supposed to get comfortable in a place like this?" She mumbled, looking around before deciding to sit where she stood, resting her aching feet and closing her eyes.

"Where, exactly, are you planning on getting clothes from?" She muttered, opening her eyes and looking back up at Grey curiously. "I haven't seen any shops nearby, and I know you're not planning on leaving me here all along for so long!"

She pulled herself up slightly, leaning forward onto her hands and peering up at him. For some reason, she couldn't even choke down her display, she didn't want to be alone and he made her feel better somehow. Krystal blinked, raising an eyebrow as he touched his cheek and a thin silver slither of steam faded into the humid air.

"Stand in the rain, again, would you..?" She mumbled softly, a look of confusion on her face. He couldn't be...

A…magician?” Krystal murmured, frowning deeply and crossing her arms. She didn’t believe him at all. But he already had his back turned and she didn’t want to question him too much while she still felt so small and vulnerable. Keeping her arms crossed, Krystal toppled back onto her backside and scooted against a cold, steel wall. She closed her eyes and leaned slightly to the side, still thinking about what the stranger had done.

A magician wouldn’t have seemed to reluctantly to show their tricks. A magician doesn’t lose control. The heat radiating off of the man’s body was real, she could feel it. Pulling her knees up to her chest, Krystal laid her head down in her arms. Her mind traveled back deep into her memories, remembering the cause of all of this trouble. It was almost unfair. To be stripped of her defenses in such a way that left her feeling so bare and unimportant. So lonely. She grimaced, not aware of the fact that she was beginning to fall asleep. Her eyelids were heavy and her heart beat had slowed, leaving her in a sleepily calm state. Unfamilar with the feeling, Krystal almost assumed she was dying.

Toppling over to the side on the cold, foreign floor, Krystal lay still. She took deep shallow breaths. Maybe…God changed his mind…Dying doesn't feel so bad...She thought, holding her knees closer to herself and letting her body take control. She fell into a deep sleep, somehow having found warmth and slight comfort in her position as her mind twisted through memories, fueling a deep, dark dream of her cirumstances.

Heaven was unusually lively that day, no pun intended. The brilliant skies radiated a deep, steady rose color, the color of judgement. This time very rarely ever happened in the Kingdom, and when it did, every angel and council member was aware of it. Not only was the sky an unusual color for the day, but it was almost as if eternity had betrayed itself, time ceasing. Clouds no longer lazily floated along the borders of Paradise, and no angels sang their songs. No music was playing, no dancing, and no speaking. Silence. An eerie silence accompanied by the dark sky. All those awaiting judgement outside of the golden arches were plagued by the thought that maybe they hadn’t been as fortunate as the were led to believe upon departure from Earth. All meetings ceased, all conversations silenced, all but one.
Standing in the center of a mass of angels and councilmen stood Krystal. Radiant golden hair tumbled down below ample hips, bright amber eyes flashing with frustration, loud—yet soft, compassionate voice strongly portraying her dismay at the turn of events. She didn’t know why. All she knew was that she felt an unprecedented need to stand up for an angel she didn’t even know.

It’s cruel,” She argued, taking light steps towards an arch angel who kept her under a stern, watchful eye. “Heaven is supposed to be a place of joy, love and mercy. Yet at the deed of someone willing to be merciful to the humans, is replied with scorn and banishment? It isn’t right!

Crowds of other angels, and the spirits of the deceased crowded around the spacious hall, listening to her words, but daring not to speak of them. Krystal ignored them, focusing only on those within range of her. Her heart ached for the unrecognized hero. Her compassion overruled any of the logic council that they threw at her.

So many times…So many times have humans made mistakes. I am not blind to their ignorance. But there is still so much more good on Earth. They deserve the chance this angel presented them with. Why now, of all times, do you strike them with such apathy?” She questioned, finally lifting her eyes and peering around at the ones listening. The expressions varied mainly from fear and amusement, and she felt her passion deepening. “And you! All of you just watch! You all watch and take whatever God gives you, when you have as much a say”—

SILENCE!

A deep, booming voice with no recognizable source roared, and for the first time, Krystal backed down, eyes wide and pink lips closing. Instinctively, her velvety black wings wrapped around her small figure to protect herself, her head lowering in respect.

Do you wish to begin a revolt, Krystalia?” The authoritive voice questioned, the voice retaining the same dignity, power and grace it always had.

No…” Her voice had become soft, frail. Her fingers pressed into her palms, her lip quivering with emotion. She struggled to keep control over herself.

If you really feel so adoring over Greyier’s actions, then perhaps you should join in his punishment.” And with that, the thick presence dispersed.

The arch angel from before smirked at her, and she lowered her wings, eyes blinking. She knew there wasn’t a chance now. No one else would take a stand, and she was to be banished. Without much of a fight, she let herself be shackled and chained, hands behind her back as she was lead out of the hall.

Say hello to the traitor for me,” An arrogant yet elegant voice murmured to her, soft lips speaking into her ear. Krystal trembled, peering over her shoulders to meet cold blue eyes. If she hadn’t lost her voice from fright, she might had actually muttered his name in distain. She felt something cold and sharp brush against her calf and she hesitantly tilted her head down, seeing the stainless blade glistening in the mysterious light. Suddenly, she didn’t feel so willing to give in.

She thrashed and screamed in despair, her eyes closing tight as she desperately tried to call on her powers to help her defend herself. But it was useless. The divine binds her body was forced to comply to would not allow it, sending a jolt of near-unbearable pain shooting through her body. Gasping, Krystal stilled, her frail and delicate body not used to so much discomfort having been accustomed to bliss for so long. The tall man behind her simply held her closer, smiling. But his smile, his comfort did not reach those icy eyes and Krystal was only filled with more dread.

He leaned her forward, his arm wrapped tight around her waist as he raised the blade.
I’m doing you a kind service…” He murmured, his hand snaking up her body to stroke a tear-stained cheek. She could barely breathe the human in her surfacing fully, all but those beautiful dark wings of hers. She heaved.

Suddenly, without warming, cold celestial metal tore through the base of her wings. Her back arched, eyes widening as a terrified, painful scream erupted from her core, her body going stiff. She trembled, feeling nothing but the overwhelming pain and the thick, soft rush of blood running down the small of her back and her legs.

Because I care about you.” His voice was emotionless, betraying all false accusations. But it wasn’t too much of a anxiety of hers. His voice was fading, her eyesight wavering, and suddenly he shoved her. Over the edge of clouds and splendid wonder, she fell headfirst into the unknown.
~

Krystal screamed, bolting upright and hitting her head on the wall behind her. She breathed, hard, panting and trying to regain her composure. At the moment she started regaining her wits, something hit her.

Greyier...G-Grey!” She wiped the tears from her cheek hastily, standing up and shivering in the cold air before starting towards the door of the warehouse, fumbling to get it open and stepping out into the rain. She had to find him! It was the angel…
And suddenly, all feeling of hope disappeared; in the distance she could see a dark-haired stoic figure, one she remembered well.

Spade…

Gathering her courage, Miku Hatsune took a deep breath and stepped forward. Instantly, deep hues of blue and red flashed around her, a warm pure light shining down on her from above. She smiled nervously, hearing the roars and claps of the millions of people out in the audience, her heart pounding against her chest. She closed her eyes to gather the remainder of her strength before turning her head to the left, signalling for the band to start playing. Swaying slightly with the music, she felt the beat began to take hold of her body, the bass pumping through her veins, the piano starting to play. All this beautiful melody needed was a voice to dominate it. She stepped closer to the edge of the stage, the spotlight following her and warming her body.

This was her first time on a huge stage, singing in front of so many people. It was her first concert, after all. She felt fantastic. She always thought she would feel more nervous then she did. Instead, she had sort of a euphoric feeling. Her body felt light, free. She felt as though she was flying, gripping the microphone tightly into her hand as her fans began to clap to the beat of the song. She started to feel herself get more into the music, beginning to sing.

"Suyasuya, yume wo miteru
kimino yokogao...
"

As soon as her smooth voice began to ring throughout the concert hall, the crowds erupted into screams and cheers. Never in all her life would she think so much positive attention would be directed her way.

"Kizukazu koboreta, namida
hoho wo tsutau~
"

She looked behind her, the backup singers humming along to accompany her voice. She continued her song, the light feeling becoming stronger and stronger as the melody deepened and the guitar set in, and soon, her feet had lifted off of the ground. The tips of her shoes lifted off of the ground lastly, her arms outstretched and her face smiling. Her fans continued cheering as she sang and sailed around the room, the euphoric, lucid feeling starting to fade.

She frowned, looking back at the stage far behind her, her body feeling hot. The stage was a bright orange color, flames engulfing it. The fire alarms started blaring, a loud beeping sound. She squealed, flailing her arms as she desperately tried to shoo the remaining fans away from the stage where they cheered. Instead of departing onto the ground like she wanted, she simply spun in the air.

"No, wait!" She shouted in frustration, knowing the roaring of the music and the screams were overpowering her. In a split second, she was suddenly falling, zooming in on the crowd of people at full speed, her body plummeting forward. She was too stunned to scream, her beautiful emerald eyes closing tightly as she prepared for impact.

BEEP...BEEP.

"NO!" Miku sat up, her aqua colored hair an absolute mess, her body looking crumpled and deformed under the mass of blankets covering her body. She jumped, wincing at the loud sound of her alarm clock blaring through the room. Reaching out a pale, slender hand, she slapped it quiet and took a deep breath, frowning and glaring at the alarm childishly before kicking the blankets off and adjusting the long gray shirt she wore the bed the previous night.

"Dream ruiner." She hissed, stretching and walking to her mirror, taking a brush and starting to brush through her hair, straightening out the matted mess with tired eyes, a sleepy look on her face as she ritually pulled her long hair into the red bands she normally wore, going to her closet to pick out her outfit for the day. "What a morning..." She yawned.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Miku changed into her outfit after glancing out of the window. It was a bit windy, but fairly warm out. At least warm enough to wear her usual outfit. She wore a black skirt hemmed with green, with knee-high aqua socks, black school-girl shoes, and a long-sleeved black and green well-fitting vest. Some people might call it a bit theatrical, but if she was going to be a star, she shouldn’t have a problem with being herself. Even in public. She took one last look at herself in the mirror, tilting her head and running her fingers through the silky sapphire locks she sported, spinning around once with a soft giggle before grabbing her dorm key and walking out of the door.

There was a lot on her list of things to do today, so she had taken the liberty of creating a schedule for herself. On the top of the list was to go buy the couple of books she needed for her classes she would be starting. Followed by that, she was to go to the market and buy some things for herself. She frowned, stuffing the list into her pocket with her dorm key and exited the tall, baige building with another yawn.

The sun hit her face and she winced, stretching and tilting her head. If there was one thing she wasn’t, it was a morning person. She took a few minutes to get herself together before stretching and starting down the sidewalk. Unfortunately, she didn’t have a car. But luckily, the loan office wasn’t too far from the dorms. It would only take her about ten minutes to walk there and back, but she was already starting to feel a bit tired, and the sun kept fading in and out of view.

Please don’t rain.” She mumbled, looking up at the sky before picking up her pace.

The girl glanced to her right, frowning upon noticing a couple on the opposite sidewalk to her walking hand and hand and chatting about something she couldn’t hear. She tried to stop herself, but she couldn’t help but feel lonely. She continued to stare, hoping they wouldn’t notice her. Sure, college would be great and all, and yes, she had dreams to pursue and goals to reach. But what would be the point if she would spend all of that time alone?

Thought friendly and cheerful, Miku had a hard time in terms of keeping friends. She just felt that no one was as ambitious as she was. She wanted to much for herself, and no one seemed to understand the passion behind the music she wrote, or her feelings in terms of going out and fufilling her dreams. So though she made friends in high school and was generally liked, she hadn’t ever had much of a stable friendship with anyone. She had never given anyone the title of, “best friend”, she had never indulged in sleep overs or birthday parties. And she had most certainly never had a boyfriend.

Absentmindedly, Miku continued to stare, soon after feeling herself tumbling downwards. Turning her gaze to the ground beneath her, she reached out to try and stop herself with a small yelp, hitting the ground and wincing as she turned onto her side. The couple she had been observing looked over at her with curiousity and she felt her face flush, a hot burning feeling in her cheeks contrasted by the cool wetness of a raindrop hitting her face.

G-great..

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

M-Miku.” The girl retorted shyly, a blush tainting her cheeks. She let him help her up, resisting the strong impulse to turn away and run in embarrassment. Noticing he still held her uncomfortable close, Miku shrugged her arm back to its place at her side and smiled slightly, awkwardly. “I’ve been around this area before, but yes I’m relatively new.” She mumbled, brushing off her skirt and vest. She was especially aware of how theatrical she must have looked now in front of him and felt herself becoming slightly self-conscious about it, a feeling she had never felt before. Sure, she had always felt a little strange for wearing the things she did in public, but that was only when she was younger and more impressionable. But the feeling inside her now was completely foreign. It was almost like she cared what he thought of her.

She blinked, rapidly with this new revelation and gaped at him, taking a single step back. She was completely oblivious to how much of a weirdo she looked like until a cold drop of rain graced itself upon her eyelashes. She blinked, letting it fall and shivered. She might have teased him for wearing a scarf when it wasn’t winter had she encountered him before the rain, but now she was almost envious.

Well, thank you for helping me, but I should hurry and get to where I was going…” She murmured, disappointed that she had a deadline to catch, but nonetheless turning her back to him and beginning to walk in the direction of the library once more.

"LEEEEEEEEEEEN!" The blonde-haired girl shouted, her voice resonating throughout the small dorm. It had already been two minutes since she had first called for him. She huffed, impatient with her twin brother and crossing her arms over her chest. Most people were surprised that such a small girl could project her voice so loudly. But on top of that, even her shrill, impatient yells carried the same soft harmonious qualities that the girl possessed.

She rested an elbow on the table, resting her chin in her palm and frowning deeply with a long, dramatic sigh. "So much effort..." She sat up quickly, slamming her palms down on the table and shouting loudly in Len's general direction. "SO MUCH EFFORT FOR YOU TO TAKE..." She glanced up at a clock above the front door before screaming at him again, "FIVE MINUTES!"

That one earned several thumps against the ceiling and walls. She sat back with a loud groan again, picking at her rice with a chopstick and frowning sadly. She wasn't always like this. Well, yes, she was always loud and obnoxious, but not always so uptight. She was much too young. She was only nervous. Moving out of their precious home to attend college so far away hadn't done her any good. She grew attached to things much easier than her brother did, and she didn't feel so at home here yet. The least he could do before they went to their first class was get to breakfast on time. She sniffed, starting to tear up, childishly kicking the leg of a chair before furrowing her eyebrows in a scowl. "LENNNNNNNNN!"

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Rin groaned loudly as he passed her, his face full of intentional smugness as he stuck his tongue out and vanished to her. She thumped a shined shoe against the carpet, impatiently before he appeared once more and she took a deep breath.

Morning, Len…” Rin mumbled softly, slightly calmed by his brief touch upon her head. She sat up straight and picked her chopsticks up, starting to eat her breakfast quietly before lifting her eyes to his, swallowing a mouth full of rice and eggs. “You took your time.” She said under her breath, quickly occupying her mouth again and swinging her short legs under the table restlessly, continuing to eat her food and glance up at the clock.

The twins had approximately one hour before their first class. But Rin, of course, wanted to leave around this time. She suddenly leaned forward into her food more, starting to scarf it down quietly and glaring at something invisible on the small table.

You took much too long.” She muttered, standing up and pushing her chair in and standing up, hooking a small finger around his collar and dragging him to the front door. “We’re leaving now!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

What do you want? You’re not getting an apology out of me.” Rin snapped, still glancing back behind her to dispute more effectively. She suddenly frowned, noticing the wideness of her brother’s eyes which mimicked her own expression of warning when she felt it. Even though her brain understood his urging, her feet kept walking forward until something stopped her. Jumping with surprise, Rin turned her attention back to the front of her. Standing high above her, a police officer peered down at her with suspicious eyes. Parting her lips into an awkward smile, she quickly whipped behind her to glare at Len, silently accusing him of all that had happened thus far and instantly letting his collar fall. She turned her attention back to the officer, ignoring the soft thud of her beloved brother hitting the ground and tilting her head.

After a moment of silence, the officer spoke, raising an eyebrow. “…Where are your parents? Need help finding them?

With a frustrated groan, Rin resisted the urge to chew the innocent man out for mistaking her as another lost child and reached into her skirt pocket, rolling her dazed twin over onto his stomach and reaching into his pocket to pull out the same object. With an irritated scowl in the officer’s direction, she held the two student ID’s in front of her face. The officer observed them with a slight, unsure nod and Rin quickly stuffed the ID’s back into their rightful places, taking Len’s hand and turning around.

Get up, Len, we’ll be late! What’s the matter with you?” She murmured, completely oblivious to her antics.
